Raiders place Jack Bech on injured reserve and promote three-touchdown Cody White

The Raiders made Jack Bech's absence official on Tuesday. The team placed the receiver on the Reserve/Injured list and signed Cody White off the practice squad in the corresponding move. Las Vegas also waived receiver Justin Shorter and added receiver Phillip Dorsett to the practice squad. Four transactions, all at one position, four days before Kansas City comes to town.

White's ledger is the strangest line item on the roster. Three catches this season, three touchdowns, 28 yards. The team notes he is the second receiver in the last 30 years whose first three receptions of a season all went for scores, joining Torrey Smith in 2011. He had been elevated from the practice squad for each of the first three games, which is not a sustainable arrangement, so promoting him was the obvious call rather than a bold one.

The Raiders lost depth elsewhere. Houston signed running back Dare Ogunbowale off the Raiders' practice squad, Pro Football Talk reported. Ogunbowale, 32, spent four seasons with the Texans and never appeared in a game for Las Vegas this year. The cost is small, but it is depth behind Ashton Jeanty and Mike Washington Jr. walking out the door in the week the schedule gets harder.

The reason any of it matters arrives Sunday. Both teams are 3-0, and CBS has handed the game its No. 1 broadcast team of Jim Nantz and J.J. Watt, picking it over Broncos-49ers. Maxx Crosby, speaking on his own podcast, kept it short on Patrick Mahomes: "I respect the s--- out of him. He knows what it is. It's war. There's no other words needed."

The books on the 3-0 start are better than the preseason projections suggested. Nine takeaways lead the NFL, already more than half of what this defense managed in all of 2025, and four of them came in the fourth quarter at New Orleans. "We don't win the game without those four turnovers in the fourth quarter," Kubiak said, per Raiders Wire. Kirk Cousins has thrown three touchdown passes in each of the first three games, a first for a Raiders quarterback.

Two things to watch. The first Week 4 injury report lands Wednesday, and Brock Bowers' workload after 10 catches and 116 yards in his season debut is the number to find on it. The unofficial depth chart still lists Jalen Nailor and Tre Tucker as the top two receivers, with White now behind them on the 53. Kickoff is 1:25 p.m. PT.
