Same drill as last week: early-week consensus lines, grouped by time slot, with a conviction ranking at the end. It's Tuesday, and Wednesday's injury reports will move several of these, so shop the number before you bet.

The top five went 3-2: Steelers, Jets and Cardinals hit, while Broncos and Panthers lost badly. Your Raiders over lost by the hook: 27-13 is 40 against a 40.5 total.

Bills-3.5

vs Lions

  • 64% of bets, 91% of money on Buffalo
  • DraftKings -3.5, BetMGM -4.5. Take -3.5; at -4.5 I'd pass.

Buffalo has moved through the key number of three while the total climbed two points, with 64% of bets and 91% of money on the Bills. Detroit is going on a short week with line problems: guard Christian Mahogany (hip) and an offensive tackle (knee) both missed Monday's practice. That's a bad combination against Buffalo's pass rush in the new stadium's opener.

Pick Bills -3.5

Falcons+1.5

vs Panthers

  • 86% of bets, 83% of money on Carolina

This is the most lopsided ticket split on the board. Carolina flipped from a 1.5-point underdog to a 1.5-point favorite with 86% of bets and 83% of money, and this is the same Carolina defense that just gave up 59 to Chicago. Atlanta went to Pittsburgh with Cooper Rush and lost by only a touchdown. There's also an upside option at quarterback: Tua could start Week 2 if Penix isn't ready. Home dog, fade the public.

Pick Falcons +1.5

Jets+4.5

vs Packers

  • 90% of money on 57% of tickets, Jets
  • Line has dropped from 5.5 to 4.5.

This is my favorite number of the week. The Jets have 90% of the money on 57% of the tickets, and the line has dropped from 5.5 to 4.5. Green Bay collapsed late in Minnesota and is playing without Josh Jacobs, who is on the Commissioner's Exempt List. I followed this exact pattern with the Jets last week and it cashed.

Pick Jets +4.5

Conviction 1

Texans-3

vs Bengals

  • 83% of money on 38% of bets, Houston

I'm following the money again. Houston has 83% of the money on only 38% of the bets, which RotoWire calls arguably the strongest divergence of the week. Houston put up 31 on Buffalo in a loss, and Cincinnati gave up 27 to a Tampa team without Evans. Houston does lose LB Henry To'oTo'o, expected out with a shoulder injury, which is why this is a lean rather than a play.

Pick Texans -3

RotoWire

Vikings+5.5

at Bears

  • Lookahead line was Bears -3
  • Total jumped four points to 49.5.

The lookahead line was Bears -3, so the market has priced in both a quarterback downgrade and a 59-point overreaction. Carson Wentz is no disaster: he went 12-of-19 for 133 yards and three touchdowns in relief to lead the comeback. O'Connell hasn't ruled Murray out and said he arrived Monday feeling "pretty good", so you're also getting a free option on Kyler clearing protocol. The total jumping four points to 49.5 tells you how much the market is chasing that Bears offense.

Pick Vikings +5.5

Titans+7

vs Eagles

  • 86% of bets, 95% of money on Philadelphia
  • Total dropped to 39.5.

The number is seven, with 86% of bets and 95% of money on Philadelphia while the total dropped to 39.5. A road favorite laying a full touchdown in a sub-40 total with near-unanimous support is the classic fade. The Eagles beat Washington by only two last week, and they're without guard Landon Dickerson, who is on IR.

Pick Titans +7

Conviction 4

Patriots-5

vs Steelers

  • Pittsburgh leads tickets, New England has three-quarters of the handle

Pittsburgh has the ticket advantage, but New England has three-quarters of the handle and the line moved toward the Patriots. New England lost by three at Seattle against the best defense in the conference, while Pittsburgh needed everything to beat a backup quarterback by seven. It's a low-conviction lean, because A.J. Brown is on IR and a 42 total makes five points a lot.

Pick Patriots -5

Saints+8.5

at Ravens

New Orleans nearly came back from 21-0 down to beat Detroit, so this team doesn't quit. Baltimore's receiving corps is banged up: Zay Flowers is questionable with a hamstring and rookie Ja'Kobi Lane fractured his wrist. Laying more than a touchdown with a depleted receiver room is too much.

Pick Saints +8.5

Yahoo Sports · RotoWire

Buccaneers-8.5

vs Browns

  • Tickets and money agree on Tampa

I'm reversing course from last week. I took Cleveland +8.5 on the "big spread, low total" theory and they lost by 24. Tickets and money agree on Tampa, and there's little disagreement to exploit, plus Dylan Sampson went on IR. The Bucs scored 27 in Cincinnati, so their offense is fine without Evans. This is a lean, not a play.

Raiders+7

at Chargers

  • 63% of bets on the Raiders
  • Take +7 only; don't take +6.5.

Treat this one as a market read, since you know the roster better. The Chargers opened -9/-9.5 and are now -7, one of the biggest downward adjustments of the week. Ladd McConkey is day-to-day with a rib injury, and on your side Schefter reported a realistic chance Bowers misses only Week 1. The risk is that Harbaugh at home after getting embarrassed is a dangerous team, and 63% of bets are on the Raiders, so you have company.

Pick Raiders +7

RotoWire

Broncos-2.5

vs Jaguars

  • Jacksonville has 67% of bets but only 54% of money
  • Buy it before it hits 3.

This is a buy-low. Denver got crushed 31-10 Monday night, and the public has Jacksonville fresh off Trevor Lawrence's four-touchdown game against the Browns, which came against the Browns. Jacksonville has 67% of the bets but only 54% of the money. Last year's AFC top seed is at home laying under a field goal.

Pick Broncos -2.5

Cardinals+4.5

vs Seahawks

  • 67% of bets, 71% of money on Seattle
  • Line has fallen from Seahawks -10 to -4.5.

The line has fallen from Seahawks -10 to -4.5, yet Seattle is still drawing 67% of bets and 71% of money with Drew Lock starting, a quarterback who is 10-18 in his career starts. Seattle is also still waiting on nickel/safety Nick Emmanwori, whose absence showed against New England's short passing game. Arizona won outright last week as a 9.5-point dog, and in a 41 total the underdog gets enough possessions to stay close. I'll ride them again.

Pick Cardinals +4.5

Conviction 3

RotoWire

Dolphins+13.5

at 49ers

  • 88% of bets, 90% of money on San Francisco
  • Take +13.5 if you can find it; +12.5 is less appealing.

San Francisco went from -10 to -13.5 with 88% of bets and 90% of money. The Niners are coming home from Australia, and this is their first true home game. Nearly two touchdowns is a big number to lay against a run-first offense that shortens the game.

Pick Dolphins +13.5

Commanders+3.5

at Cowboys

  • 73% of the money on Dallas, spread still moved toward Washington
  • Get the hook. If it drops to +3, it becomes a smaller play.

Get the hook. Dallas lost to the Giants and is thin in the secondary, with safety Malik Hooker likely out with a forearm injury and linebacker DeMarvion Overshown questionable. The spread has moved toward Washington even though 73% of the money is on Dallas, which tells me the book is comfortable holding Commanders tickets. Washington played Philly to two points on the road.

Pick Commanders +3.5

Sunday night

Colts+6.5

at Chiefs

  • Indianapolis has 75% of the moneyline handle on only 9% of moneyline tickets
  • It gets better if +7 appears.

Mahomes looked like himself Monday, which is exactly why the public will pile on. The odd signal is that Indianapolis has 75% of the moneyline handle on only 9% of moneyline tickets, and the spread hasn't gone through seven despite Chiefs money. Kansas City is on a short week after an emotional divisional win.

Pick Colts +6.5

Rams-7

vs Giants

  • 82% of bets, 79% of money on the Giants

82% of bets and 79% of money are on the Giants, pushing the Rams onto seven. I backed the Giants last week and it cashed, but one prime-time win has made them the public darling. Meanwhile the Rams got blown out 27-7 in Australia and are getting 11 days to recover. The real cost is Myles Garrett on IR after knee surgery, which keeps this a low-conviction pick. Still, buying low on a contender at the key number is the side I want.

That's ten dogs out of sixteen again. Week 2 is when the market overreacts to one game, and most of these dogs are catching points precisely because of last Sunday.

The usual caveat applies: these are opinions on efficient markets, and the Murray and Bowers practice reports could change two of them by Friday.
