Cameron Dicker's late field goal turns Seahawks -7 into a push

Push

Exactly the number, which is the one outcome nobody wants. Seattle led 30-13 and then stopped scoring. Justin Herbert threw two first-half interceptions and lost a fumble on Uchenna Nwosu's strip-sack with 1:42 left, but Cameron Dicker's 35-yard field goal at 2:13 had already dragged this from 30-20 to 30-23. Seahawks 30, Chargers 23, seven on the nose. The two teams combined for 30 penalties and 280 yards, including a franchise-record 150 for Seattle. Money back, and honestly that feels about right.

The pick: Seahawks -7 vs Chargers

The case before kickoff

The Chargers' passing game keeps losing pieces. Ladd McConkey was limited Wednesday with a new foot injury, David Njoku is on IR with a fibula injury, Charlie Kolar is out after forearm surgery, Brenen Thompson is still sidelined, and running back Keaton Mitchell left practice in a boot. Seattle's only Wednesday absence was safety Ty Okada. The problem is the number: laying a full touchdown in a 42.5-point game is exactly the kind of spread this experiment faded in Week 1. The personnel says Seattle, the structure says caution, so it's a lean.
